Much attention to population and family planning was paid, the
network of family planning services and reproductive health care was
strengthened, the fertility level was gradually decreasing, the average
life expectancy was increasing. In 2023, the crude birth rate was 14.5‰,
down 1.04 thousandth points compared to 2022; the crude death rate was
6.72‰, down 1.70 thousandth points; the natural population growth rate
was 7.85‰, an increase of 0.66 thousandth points; the total fertility rate
was 2.32 children/woman, and the average life expectancy was 71.4 years.
In 2023, the labor force aged 15 and over was 335,395 people,
accounting for 51.27% of the population, a year-on-year increase of
0.20%. Of the total, the male labor force accounted for 52.04% and the
female labor force accounted for 47.96%. The labor force in the urban
areas and in the rural area accounted for 33.20% and 66.80%,
respectively. Employed population in economic activities were
estimated at 327,016 people, accounting for 97.50% of the province's
labor force.
The proportion of trained workers with degrees and certificates
was 27.96%; of which, the rate in the urban area and the rural area was
47.10% and 18.44%, respectively.
The unemployment rate of the labor force at working-age in the
whole province in 2023 was 2.76%; of which, the rate in the urban area
and the rural area was 3.27% and 2.50%, respectively. In 2023, the
proportion of employed labor increased in the agriculture, forestry and
fishery sector and the service sector; while the industry - construction
sector saw a decline as it faced multiple difficulties in the year.
5.2. Education, health, social security
In the school year 2023-2024, the network of schools and classes
was gradually streamlined in a reasonable and proper manner, in
accordance with regulations, meeting the learning needs of children in
the province. The work of mobilizing students to go to school,
universalizing education, and eliminating illiteracy achieved many
positive results.
