EXPLANATION OF TERMINOLOGY, CONTENT
AND METHODOLOGY OF SOME STATISTICAL
INDICATORS ON AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY
AND FISHING
AGRICULTURE
Farms are households which produce goods on a large scale and
must meet certain criteria for production scale and output in agriculture,
forestry and fishing.
From 2019 and earlier, farms criteria are implemented according to
Circular No. 27/2011/TT-BNNPTNT dated April 13, 2011 of the Ministry
of Agriculture and Rural Development on “Criteria and procedures to
grant certificate of farm economy”.
From 2020, farms criteria will be implemented in accordance with
Circular No. 02/2020/TT-BNNPTNT dated February 28, 2020 of the
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development regulating on "Farm
economic criteria".
Annual planted area is the planted area with agricultural crops
which the growth period do not exceed one year from planting time to
harvest, including cereal crops (rice, maize, millet etc.), industrial crops
(sugarcane, rush, jute, etc.), medical plants, food crops and legumes.
Annual planted area is recorded when the plant starts its growing
process for each cropping season. In case that in the same area where
crops are replanted many times due to being dead, the area is also recorded
once time.
The area of perennial crop is the area of agricultural crops
growing from the planting time to the first time of harvesting for one year
and over and harvests products for many years, including industrial crops
(tea, coffee, rubber, etc.), fruit trees (oranges, lemons, longans, etc.),
medical plants (cinnamon, beans, etc.).
