OVERVIEW ON SOCIO-ECONOMIC SITUATION

IN QUANG TRI PROVINCE IN 2021

The year 2021 was the first year of implementing the 5-year socio-
economic development plan (2021-2025) and the 10-year socio-economic
development strategy (2021-2030). In Quang Tri, the weather condition in
2021 was quite favorable; the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the province
was basically under control, economic sectors were on the way of recovery
and development; the state budget revenues and investment attraction
achieved positive results. However, besides the basic favorable factors,
Quang Tri also faced many difficulties and challenges: the consequences
of natural disasters and floods in 2020 were still heavy; complicated
developments of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country and all over the
world caused the supply chain of production and consumption to be
narrowed; in the province, the Covid-19 pandemic resurged since the end
of August, affecting production and business activities and people’s life;
many large-scale investment projects were slowly implemented over
investors’ commitment; a part of the people encountered difficulties due to
the impact of natural disasters, epidemics...

In the context of closely intertwining advantages with
disadvantages, the province synchronously and effectively implemented
the objectives, tasks and solutions set in the Action plans of the Provincial
People’s Committee to implement Resolution No.01/NQ-CP dated 1
January, 2021 of the Government; Conclusion No.05-KL/TU dated 3
December, 2020 of the Provincial Party Committee and Resolution
No.83/2020/NQ-HĐND dated 9 December, 2020 of the Provincial
People’s Council on the socio-economic development plan in 2021.

The socio-economic situation in Quang Tri in 2021 achieved the
following results:

1. Economic growth
In the context of negative impact of resurgence of the Covid-19
pandemic on socio-economic sectors and activities, and devastating
consequences of floods in 2020, the gross regional domestic products
