TRANSPORT, POSTAL SERVICE
AND TELECOMMUNICATION IN 2021

In 2021, the transportation continued to be affected by the Covid-19

pandemic, transport activities were temporarily suspended during the
pandemic, especially passenger transport activity. The passengers
transported in 2021 were 6,181,000, reduced by 7.94% compared to that in
2020; the passengers traffic reached 549.7 million passengers.km, declined
by 8.96%. Freight carriage reached 9,479.6 thousand tons, increased by
2.13%; freight traffic reached 715.9 million tons.km, rose by 1.84%
compared to that in 2020.

Total transportation turnover in 2021 reached 1,762.6 billion VND,

a fall of 0.28% compared to that in 2020. By type of transport activities,
road transport turnover was 1,452.1 billion VND, reducing by 0.41%;
water transport turnover reached 4.5 billion VND, declining by 5.56%;
turnover from storage and support activities reached 1.0 billion VND,
going up by 3.73% over the previous year.

Postal and telecommunications enterprises had well performed the
provision of postal and delivery services; ensured information security;
diversified service packages, upgraded bandwidth for mobile devices, etc.,

to better serve the needs of consumers in the context of the Covid-19
pandemic. Generally, the postal and telecommunications activities in the
area had developed stably, as of December 31, 2021, the province had
678.4 thousand telephone subscribers, an increase of 3.79% compared to
that in 2020. Particularly, there were 670.3 thousand mobile phone
subscribers, a rise of 4.05%. The number of broadband subscribers
reached 109.9 thousand, an increase of 14.48% compared to that in 2020.

There were 64.99% of households connected with internet and 87.23% of
the population had internet access.
