EXPLANATION OF TERMINOLOGY, CONTENT AND
                          METHODOLOGY OF SOME STATISTICAL INDICATORS

                        ON HEALTH, LIVING STANDARD, SPORT, SOCIAL ORDER
                                    AND SAFETY, JUSTICE AND NATURAL
                                                DISASTER DAMAGE





                             HEALTH

                             Health  establishment  is  the  place  where  patients  are  examined,
                        treated  and  taken  care  of,  including  general  hospital,  special  hospital;
                        medical  center  in  districts  with  function  of  medical  checks  up  and
                        treatment;  Sanatoriums  and  rehabilitation  hospital,  policlinics,  medical
                        service  unit  in  communes,  precincts,  town  (generally  referred  to
                        grassroots-level health unit), medical service unit in offices, enterprises

                        and other health units (such as tuberculosis, dermatology and optical test
                        units, leprosy treatment center, and antenatal clinic…).

                             Patient bed is used for patients during their treatment at the health
                        establishments  excluding  beds  for  persons  on  duty,  and  beds  in  the
                        examining and waiting rooms.

                             Health  staff  includes  medical  and  pharmaceutical  staffs  who  are
                        currently working in health establishments (including public and private
                        health)  and  obtained  health  qualifications  for  at  least  three-month
                        training,  including  doctors,  physicians,  nurses,  midwives,  pharmacists,

                        druggists and technicians.
                             Rate  of  under-5-year  children’s  malnutrition  by  level  of

                        malnutrition

                                Children of weight-for-age malnutrition: under-5-year children
                        have weight-for-age less than minus 2 standard deviation (-2SD) of the
                        median  weight  of  World  Health  Organization  (WHO)  reference
                        population.
